When the Village Pines School PTO contacted Dash Door for an access control solution at their main office, Dash Door had already been working on in-house integration of two applicable product lines. The private school is a 54 year old preschool – Grade 5 campus situated in a commercial / residential zoning area. The school is a fixture in their small community enclave; however, security upgrades were an important part of the non-profit Parent Teacher Organization budget.
Dash Door selects a number of organizations each year to which products and services are donated in a community outreach effort. School security has become an important topic in recent times. Dash Door’s Access Control Group has combined a number of products / services in order to create a menu of cost effective access control solutions for single door applications like Village Pines School main office – up to campus wide mobile credentialing of a college campus.
In addition to donating new cylindrical locksets at all classroom buildings which were keyed alike for convenience, Dash Door furnished and installed an iVision wireless video intercom system at the main office door in combination with integration of a Trine 3000 series electric strike. This system consists of an exterior video camera mounted at the office door. The video feed can be viewed via a wireless handheld unit – two way voice communication is a feature along with the ability to release the electric strike at the door to unlock via the handheld remote. The range of 300 feet is more than enough for a school administrator to leave the front desk while still monitoring access to the front office door via video and audio communication. The ability to save still photos of from the front door camera is also available.
Dash Door Service / Maintenance techs cut out the existing wood door frame to allow for the low profile Trine 3000 series electric strike to be installed. The strike was integrated with the iVision camera and handheld unit creating a cost effective solution to single door access at both residential and commercial locations.
